The culinary traditions of Atlanta are greatly informed by its location in the heart of the American southeast, as well as its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean and its status as a destination for people relocating from Louisiana. Locals and visitors to Atlanta will have their choice of great barbeque, soul food, seafood, Cajun food, and Creole cuisine. Perhaps Atlanta's most notable contribution to the world of food and beverage came in 1886 when Dr. John S. Pemberton invented what has become the world's most popular soft drink, Coca-Cola.

Chinese Chicken Fried Rice II

I marinated chicken tenders in a balsamic vingerette dressing for a few hours, added garlic, peas and carrots. Made a 1 dish meal out of it and it was good. Kids did not eat it as much as I had hoped. But good.

Okra Salad

This has expanded my previous okra possibilities! I added a little more bacon, because bacon fat rules! And I added some blanched (frozen) black eyed peas! Yummy goodness!

Banana Pudding IV

Excellent recipe!! I am asked to make this now at every event which is much simpler to bring than my other dishes. My changes are: I use french vanilla pudding, 1/2 (14oz) can of sweetened milk, cream cheese must be at room temperature and I dip my bananas in lemon juice to prevent browning.
