Sparkling Fruit Salad

Reviewed on Sep. 5, 2008 by Lauraloves2run
I'm giving this a 5 because it tasted really fresh and all the fruit in the recipe doesn't turn brown which allows you to make this a few hours in advance. I also used canned pineapple chunks because it was a lot cheaper than buying a pineapple. Unlike other reviewers, I thought the club soda/grape juice combo added to the recipe and I could taste it on the fruit. I served this with some chicken garlic pizza and it was perfect. Thanks!

Caramel Shortbread Squares

Reviewed on Sep. 5, 2008 by Lauraloves2run
These were really good and really rich as other reviewers noted. I made the shortbread the night before. I chilled it after I poured the caramel on and again after I poured the chocolate on. I didn't have any problem with the chocolate separating from the caramel but I cut it at room temperature. I thought the shortbread could have been better but it was somewhat crumbly and not as flavorful as expected. Next time I make this I will find another shortbread recipe. Thanks! They turned out really pretty. (PS- It's super easy to figure out if the caramel is done by dropping a spoonful into a bowl of water. If you can role it into a ball it's ready. I boiled this for 5 minutes but didn't stir it for 3 minutes afterwards.)
